The Aquarium will remain closed until further notice due to significant storm surge, associated debris, and extensive coastal flooding caused by Hurricane Hanna.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Texas State Aquarium is pleased to report that the animals are all fine. However, the Aquarium will remain closed until further notice due to significant storm surge, associated debris, and extensive coastal flooding caused by Hurricane Hanna.

As the storm waters began to recede this morning, Aquarium staff were able to assess conditions. The Aquarium’s main buildings did not suffer significant damage; however, the storm left behind a large amount of debris. The Aquarium’s dedicated staff are already hard at work cleaning up. Parts of North Beach remain flooded, and access to the Aquarium is limited.
