How We Gather and Use Information

We do not require you to provide any personal information to access the Aquarium’s Site. The Texas State Aquarium collects personal information during your use of the Site, for instance, when you sign up for our Newsletter or donate.

Email Newsletter

Only those people who Opt-In will be added to the Texas State Aquarium email newsletter. We offer an Opt-Out option to unsubscribe from our newsletter to comply with the CAN-SPAM Act.


Personal information is collected to process donations made using credit cards on the Site. We do not use this information in any manner other than processing the donation.

Use of the Site by Anyone Under the Age of 13 is Prohibited

In accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), use of the Site by anyone under the age of 13 is prohibited. You must be at least 13 years old to receive email communications from the Texas State Aquarium. If you are under the age of 13, do not attempt to use any services of the Site. The Texas State Aquarium will use its best efforts to only collect information from individuals over the age of 13. If we are notified that we have collected information from anyone under 13 years of age, we will delete the information.
