Sensory-Friendly Experience

Sensory issues can make new experiences challenging. That’s why we are proud to be Kulture City Certified. Our Team Members are trained to help guests with sensory issues by offering resources including sensory bags.

Sensory Impairment Services

We are happy to arrange an American Sign Language interpreter or sighted guide for your visit. To request an ASL interpreter or sighted guide, please email [email protected] at least 2-3 weeks prior to your visit. You can also coordinate your own ASL interpreter or sighted guide by contacting The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center or the South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind.

Service Animals

ADA Service animals are permitted on the property. Service animals are defined as an animal who is trained to perform a task directly related to a person’s disability. Emotional support/therapy animals are not permitted.

Accessible Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are located throughout the Aquarium and an accessible family restroom is located on the first floor in the Gulf of Mexico exhibit. All restrooms have wheelchair-accessible stalls.

Wheelchairs

The Aquarium is fully accessible to guests using wheelchairs. Guests are encouraged to bring their wheelchairs with them, however, a limited number of wheelchairs are also available for rent at no charge. All rentals are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
