A NEW Children’s Discovery Center Opening Spring 2026
Ocean Odyssey is a brand-new, immersive Children’s Discovery Center coming to the Texas State Aquarium in Spring 2026. This multi-level, indoor experience is designed to inspire play, learning, and a deeper connection to wildlife rescue.
Inspired by the Aquarium’s nationally recognized wildlife rescue program, Ocean Odyssey invites children and families to explore rescue-themed environments through interactive, climbable play. Experiences range from toddler-friendly spaces to more advanced climbing and exploration areas, encouraging learning through movement and imagination.
At the heart of Ocean Odyssey is the Texas State Aquarium’s commitment to wildlife rescue, conservation, and education. Through age-appropriate activities, guests will discover how caring for wildlife helps protect ocean ecosystems.
Ocean Odyssey builds upon a period of significant momentum for the Texas State Aquarium, recently named the No. 3 Best Aquarium in North America by USA Today and home to the largest and most active coastal wildlife rescue program in the United States. The new Discovery Center reflects the Aquarium’s ongoing focus on education, conservation, and creating meaningful experiences for families across Texas and beyond.
The approximately $2 million, self-funded project was designed by a leading children’s discovery center firm and will be located next to a food and beverage area with family-viewing seating, making it easy for caregivers to relax while children play.
