School Year Camps

Mini-camps offer immersive and hands-on STEM-based activities in which children of all ages not only have fun and make friends, but learn about science and the environment.

Spring Mini-Camp

Here at Texas State Aquarium, we think working in the marine environment is a privilege! We are fortunate to work with many different types of animals. This week join us to take a closer look at Reptiles and Mammals!

Please note, each day is a separate registration and schedule of activities – campers are welcome to join for one or both days of discovery.

    Reptiles - 8:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.

The Texas State Aquarium is home to many different reptile species, like Alligators, Snakes, and Turtles! Reptiles are cold-blooded vertebrates who breathe air and can be covered in scales. During this engaging camp experience, learners will explore adaptations, behaviors, and characteristics of reptiles just as scientists do.

What do a North American River Otter, an Ocelot, and a human all have in common? That’s Right… they are all great examples of mammals! Learners will immerse themselves into the world of mammals living at the Texas State Aquarium, to gain a better understanding of what characteristics and features define a mammal.
