Texas State Aquarium Announces New Summer Offerings Starting this Memorial Day Weekend

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – This Memorial Day Weekend, the Aquarium will extend its hours, open new dining experiences, launch a new 4D film, a new educational presentation, and so much more! These opportunities give guests a variety of new ways to celebrate the holidays, beat the summer heat, and discover the wonders of the ocean.
Starting Saturday, May 28th, the Aquarium will open daily and extend its summer hours to 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The H-E-B Splash Park, the Aquarium’s popular zero-depth water playground, will also open daily and extend its hours to 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The H-E-B Splash Park is included with guest admission or membership.
Also starting this weekend, the all-new Rio: The 4-D Experience® is premiering at the Texas State Aquarium. When the last blue macaws on Earth, Blu and Jewel, are captured by bird smugglers, they must work together despite Blu’s inability to fly. This unexpected duo takes you on a thrilling 4-D journey through Rio de Janeiro, finding courage, friendship, and love along the way. This special experience will be playing throughout the season in the Whataburger 4D Theater and promises an adventure like no other. Plus, it’s FREE with Aquarium admission.
A new educational presentation, “Let’s Talk Sharks,” will be featured twice a day, every day at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. This presentation allows guests to learn more about the H-E-B Caribbean Sea exhibit, as well as our resident sandbar sharks that live there.
The Aquarium, in partnership with SSA Group, is launching new dining experiences, ‘Canopy,’ and ‘Back Porch.’ Canopy is a unique experience where you can enjoy regional gulf cuisine with a view! Canopy will be featuring South Texas favorites, like chorizo con queso and house-made campechana, along with other healthy options. Canopy is located in the Caribbean Jungle Overlook. Guests can also visit the all-new Back Porch, which will feature ice-cold beverages (beer, wine, seltzers, cocktails, sodas & more) and gourmet hot dogs.
