CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – On Wednesday, December 12 from 6 - 8 p.m., the Texas State Aquarium (TSA) will host a holiday-themed “Dream Night.” This event, held as part of Aquarium’s ongoing Diversity and Inclusion Initiative, offers families with special-needs children a modified environment to experience the Aquarium and participate in festive activities.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit the Aquarium for “Dream Night” beginning at 6 p.m., followed by a holiday frame craft in the jungle overlook. At 6:30 p.m., animal encounters will be available in the lobby and a sea turtle enrichment session will occur at Tortuga Cay. Later in the night, Santa will trade in his traditional fur suit for a wetsuit and fins and dive into the H-E-B Caribbean Sea as “Scuba Santa,” with photo opportunities available for guests.

“THE POLAR EXPRESS™ 4-D Experience®, a holiday-themed film in the Whataburger 4-Dimension Theater, will also be available at 6:30, 7 and 7:30 p.m. The Gift Shop will also stay open through 7:45 p.m. to allow guests some after-hours holiday shopping.

To inform guests with sensitivities about upcoming experiences, “What to Expect” signage will be placed at select exhibits and “calm zones” will be provided for guests.

Support for the Diversity and Inclusion Initiative is provided in part by a partnership with the Coastal Bend Community Foundation and the Driscoll Health Plan.
