It’s not Halloween without Boo! In The Blue
The Texas State Aquarium is thrilled to welcome you back for Halloween under the sea with its annual Boo! In The Blue event on Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18. All activities are included with admission or membership, and children (ages 3 to 12) in costume will get a 50% admission discount* with the purchase of a full-priced adult admission. Membership admission is not applicable for child discounts. This offer is available for onsite ticket purchases only and cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts.
Some spooky décor will bring a Halloween ambiance to the Aquarium experience. Underwater skeletons, jack-o-lanterns carved with ocean creatures, and giant shark jaws covered in cobwebs will all make for some fin-tastic photo ops.

How to Enter

Take a photo of your costume at the Texas State Aquarium. GET CREATIVE WITH YOUR LOCATION AND BACKGROUND! - Submit your photo
Upload one or more photos through our contest submission link. The last day to submit your photos will be Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. CT. The submission link will be shared on our Instagram and Facebook Stories during Boo! In The Blue, available in our Instagram bio through the submission deadline, and included in Facebook posts during and after the event. - Follow us

Contest Details
- Children 13 years old or younger will be considered for the contest.
- Photos must be taken at the Texas State Aquarium during Boo! In The Blue on October 17 or 18, 2026.
- Photos may include an individual or a group.
- One prize will be awarded per individual or group.
- There is no limit to the number of photos you may submit.
- Aquarium staff will select the three winning costumes based on costume, creativity, and the location/background of the photo.
- Winners will be notified on Friday, October 23, 2026, and announced to the public on the Aquarium’s Instagram, Facebook, and other social media pages, where the winning photos will also be displayed.
- Contest entrants will not be compensated or reimbursed for their photo submissions.
Prizes
Each winner will receive Aquarium goodies and prizes from our presenting partner, Whataburger. Winning photos may also be featured on the Texas State Aquarium’s social media channels and other promotional materials
Photo Use
By submitting a photo, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they are the parent or legal guardian of the child pictured and gives the Texas State Aquarium permission to use the submitted photo for social media, website, marketing, and promotional purposes.
By submitting a photo, the entrant also confirms that the photo was taken at the Texas State Aquarium during Boo! In The Blue on October 17 or 18, 2026.
