Guest Code of Conduct

The Texas State Aquarium reserves the right to refuse admission to, escort from Aquarium grounds, and/or revoke without a refund the admission or Membership of, any individual or group who endangers our animals, staff, vendors, guests, or any Texas State Aquarium property; or who engages in verbal or physical harassment, discriminatory or threatening behavior, or otherwise interferes with the safety or enjoyment of the Aquarium by others.

Texas State Aquarium Guest Policies:

  • Unauthorized use or resale of tickets is prohibited.
  • Visitors aged 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Firearms or other weapons are prohibited on Aquarium property. Weapons can include any item that is deemed a potential hazard to staff, visitors, or animals. A license to open carry or conceal carry a weapon does not supersede this policy, pursuant to Sections 30.06 – 30.07 of the Texas Penal Code.
  • Service animals only. Only service animals under the control of their handler are permitted, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Smoking and vaping are prohibited on Aquarium property, except at designated smoking area.
  • We reserve the right to inspect packages, bags, and containers.
  • Appropriate, family-friendly swimwear is required at HEB Splash Park.
  • A shirt and shoes are required, except at the HEB Splash Park, where appropriate swimwear is required. Any clothing with offensive/inappropriate content is prohibited and you will be asked to change or leave the facility.
  • Be courteous to staff and other guests.
  • No soliciting on Aquarium grounds, parking lots or sidewalks that surround those grounds.

HEB Splash Park Policies:

  • All guests must follow the posted health and safety guidelines.
  • Appropriate, family-friendly swimwear is required in the HEB Splash Park.
  • Must follow the guest code of conduct and policies.

Items Not Allowed on Texas State Aquarium Property:

  • Weapons
  • Outside food and drink
  • Tobacco products and e-cigarettes (smoker poles provided in designated smoking area)
  • Drones or other electronic aerial devices
  • Clothing with offensive or vulgar language
  • Balloons, kites, beach umbrellas or beach supplies
  • Noise-making devices (horns, whistles, etc.)
  • Banners/signs (unless previously approved)
  • Laser pens and pointers
  • Any items deemed to be dangerous or inappropriate

Marketing Policies:

  • During your visit, you may be photographed or videotaped by Texas State Aquarium (or by third parties authorized by Texas State Aquarium). Your image may also be observed and transmitted in real time by Texas State Aquarium via live webcam during Aquavision programs. Your admission serves as permission for the foregoing uses of your image. Commercial photography or filming is prohibited without express permission of Texas State Aquarium.
  • Non-commercial photography for personal use is allowed, but tripods are restricted.
  • Commercial photography and filming requests must go through the Marketing Department. Please send your request to [email protected].

Policies are subject to change, and all guests must abide by the Aquarium rules in effect on the date of visit.
