The Texas State Aquarium (TSA) and Oceans and Wildlife institute (OWI), strive to enhance workforce and career development with a multifaceted pipeline approach. Science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM) concepts and processes are central pillars in education through TSA and OWI. As a cornerstone of OWI’s integrated Workforce Development Pipeline, the STEMM program equips students to explore careers in STEMM fields and fosters lasting connections with peers, industry leaders, and organizations. Since 2023, more than 5,100 students have participated in its programs.

We are grateful for the generous philanthropic support of ExxonMobil Gulf Coast Growth Ventures (GCGV), whose partnership helps expand access to high-quality STEMM education through programs administered by Texas State Aquarium (TSA) and Oceans of Wildlife Institute (OWI).

Through this partnership, approximately 5,000 students in grades 1–12 from Gregory-Portland Independent School District will have the opportunity to visit the Texas State Aquarium and participate in the hands-on, TEKS-aligned Aquaventure scavenger hunt program. Additionally, each student received a branded Aquaventure bag with an “Adopt A Species” information card.
