Below is a list of many of the most frequently asked questions (FAQ) about the Memberships:

  • When will I receive my membership card in the mail?

    We are no longer printing physical membership cards. A digital membership card will be emailed immediately after completing your purchase.  

  • I’d prefer not to use the digital membership card. What should I do?

    You can print your digital membership card, or you can just show a photo ID to check in. 

  • How does my membership work?

    Members get free admission to the Aquarium for a full 12 months along with several great benefits.  When you purchase a membership, you can decide to list all members of your household or you can leave the other slots open for guests.  The guest slots can be used by anyone just as long as a named member is present. Named slots can only be used by the person that is listed and cannot be substituted by a guest. 

  • CAN WE USE OUR ADMISSION RECEIPT TOWARDS OUR MEMBERSHIP?

    Yes. You have 5 days after you visit to upgrade to a membership. Only one admission receipt is valid towards a membership and can only be used for the individuals who purchased the admission tickets. The number of tickets applied also must not exceed the party level that the membership covers. The receipt can only be applied to traditional memberships and cannot be applied to subscription memberships. Please note that you must have your receipt in order to upgrade to a membership.

     

  • How do I get discounts on additional admission tickets?

    Members may purchase discounted tickets for additional guests that are not covered by your membership level. Currently, the discount is $5 off adult admission and $4 off military and children’s admission.  If you plan on bringing guests multiple times, consider upgrading your membership to save money! 

  • Is there a membership available for daycares, schools, etc.?

    No, our memberships are for individuals and families only. We do, however, offer discounts on group sales. Please call our Guest Services Office at 361-881-1250 for more information.  

  • What is a subscription membership?

    Subscription membership divides the cost of a membership into 11 monthly payments after an enrollment fee is paid. Subscription memberships are only available online and the enrollment fee covers the cost of one visit. All subscription members will be charged on the first of every month.  

  • How can I opt out of the subscription?

    When you purchase a subscription membership online, you have to sign terms and conditions that state you will pay monthly for 11 consecutive months.  After your initial term, your membership does not automatically renew.  

  • How do I add the membership card to my smart phone?

    An email will be sent immediately after the purchase of your membership. Simply follow the instructions in the email to download your membership card to your phone. 

  • How do I see the membership restrictions and other names listed on my digital membership card?

    For iPhone users, click on the “…” in the top right-hand corner and then click on “Pass Details”. For Android users, click on the “…” in the bottom right-hand corner. Membership policies and additional names will be listed here.  

  • My name is spelled wrong/membership level is incorrect.

    Please contact the Membership Office at 361-881-1259 to correct your information.  

  • My family member is on this membership account also, how can she/he receive the card?

    For iPhone and Android users, navigate to the back of the card and click on the “share” button at the top right-hand corner. You can also forward the email with the digital membership card to the other members listed.  

  • I downloaded my card but I can’t find it.

    If you have an iPhone, the card will download to Apple Wallet. If you have an Android, you will need to download the Pass2U app.  

  • Can I apply my group admission towards a membership?

    No. Group admission cannot be upgraded to a membership. Typically group admission is purchased by multiple families or businesses/ organizations and membership is intended for individual household use only.
