“As longtime supporters of the Texas State Aquarium, we are always looking for ways to provide unique, educational, and fun experiences for Texas families,” said Rob Hall, H-E-B Group Vice President – Gulf Coast. “We are delighted that the aquarium’s newest attraction, the H-E-B Splash Park, will be a place for families to enjoy and come together to create memories.”
This exciting $2.8M addition is three times the size of the previous splash park. The Splash Park features a variety of new amenities, including all new custom water features, such as a multi-level slide play structure, a 350-gallon water dump feature, as well as plenty of sitting areas and shade structures. The new splash park is designed to appeal to a wide array of ages, from tall slides and spray features for tweens to an area with interactive water features designed for toddlers.
“We are thrilled for guests to see and experience the New H-E-B Splash Park,” said President and CEO Jesse Gilbert. “This 15,000 square foot space will enhance guest and member experience, adding more value to each membership and admission ticket, all while supporting our wildlife rescue program.”
During the summer months, the Splash Park is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. After Labor Day, the Splash Park will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends only until October, when it closes for the season. Water features will be turned off 10 minutes prior to closing, to allow guests time to exit before the facility closes.
