Texas State Aquarium Announces Oct. 15 Dollar Day Presented by ExxonMobil
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The Texas State Aquarium today announced a special Dollar Day for Sunday, Oct. 15 presented by ExxonMobil. With many residents still recovering from Hurricane Harvey’s aftermath, ExxonMobil is sponsoring the event as a gift to Coastal Bend residents. The Aquarium’s extremely popular Dollar Days offer an admission price of $1 for all visitors. Admission includes access to all exhibit areas, including the new Caribbean Journey experience, and the Whataburger 4-D Theater.
ExxonMobil is a longtime supporter of the Aquarium. ExxonMobil Corporation and ExxonMobil Foundation are recognized in the Aquarium’s AQUA Society in honor of their generous contributions to the Aquarium’s animal care, wildlife rehabilitation, education, and conservation programs. ExxonMobil’s sponsorship of the Oct. 15 Dollar Day provides an opportunity for families and individuals to experience a fun day at the Aquarium, learning about wildlife, and spending quality time together for only $1 per guest.
“We are so grateful for ExxonMobil’s support for our upcoming October Dollar Day as a gift to the Coastal Bend area in the aftermath of Harvey,” said Tom Schmid, President and CEO of the Texas State Aquarium. “This will be our first Dollar Day since we opened Caribbean Journey, and for those folks in our community who have not had an opportunity to experience our new exhibitions, this will be a great chance to do so.”
Rob Tully, ExxonMobil Venture Executive for the Gulf Coast Growth Ventures Project, agreed that this Dollar Day is a bright spot for the communities still recovering.
“They need an opportunity to reenergize, have an affordable family outing, and have some fun,” he said. “That is why we thought sponsoring this special post-Hurricane Harvey Dollar Day was the right thing for us to do and help those affected take a break to have some family time.”
Among the new experiences Dollar Day guests can expect to enjoy are the Caribbean Journey’s jungle with flamingos, reptiles, and free-flying birds; and the Tom and Cora Keeler Estate Caribbean Sea Gallery with sharks, stingrays, and coral reef fish. The Gulf of Mexico and outdoor exhibits will also be available to view.
The Aquarium will also host four additional Dollar Days. H-E-B Dollar Day, Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017; Whataburger Dollar Day, Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017; NavyArmy Dollar Day, Monday, Jan. 15, 2018; and H-E-B Dollar Day, Feb. 2018.
Hours for the Oct. 15 ExxonMobil Dollar Day are 10 a.m. – 5p.m. Children 2 and under will receive free admission, and parking is included with admission.
