Did you know that this year marked the 50th anniversary of Jaws, the blockbuster story that forever changed how the world sees sharks. While Jaws sparked a global fear of these incredible animals, it also inspired many to learn more, and even dedicate their lives to protecting them.
Join us on Friday, July 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a special Let’s Talk Sharks — Jaws Edition presentation with Dr. Kesley Banks from the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
Dr. Banks will dive into the misconceptions Jaws created, share how the film inspired her own journey to becoming a marine biologist, and explore how we can shift the narrative from fear to respect through conservation and education.
