Four days of fun and adventure at the Texas State Aquarium!! The theme this year is sea turtles! Kids will discover and explore amazing facts of the five species of sea turtles found in the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy arts and crafts, have your picture taken with an animal, and visit our newest exhibit, Tortuga Cay!

Camp SeaStar will introduce your “hatchling” into the watery world of the Gulf of Mexico. Campers will spend 4 days at SeaLab and 1 day at the Aquarium. Campers will fish and have a wet and wild time in our above-ground pool. Through educational videos, hands-on activities and guest speakers, they will learn about marine life with an emphasis on sea turtles. At the Aquarium, they will “sea” all of the daily programs, meet some of our animal residents, visit the giftshop, and experience Tortuga Cay—our newly remodeled exhibit opening this spring!

Camp SeaUrchin will “ride the current” further into the Gulf of Mexico with activities focusing on the Jr. Angler Program and marine life with an emphasis on sea turtles. Campers will spend 4 days at SeaLab and 1 day at the Aquarium. Water activities include paddleboats in our above-ground pool. In the classroom, our experienced staff will offer fun, hands-on projects and visits from guest speakers. At the Aquarium, campers will “sea” all the daily programs, meet some of our animal residents, visit the giftshop, and experience Tortuga Cay—our newly remodeled exhibit opening this spring!

Camp SeaHorse

- 9:00-3:00, plus one overnight

SeaHorse campers will further “explore” our aquatic regions and go into the field for some wet and muddy fun! Campers will spend 4 days at SeaLab and 1 day/overnight sleepover at the Aquarium. Outdoor activities include canoeing, kayaking, scavenger hunts, races, and Jr. Angler Program. At the wetland, campers will explore this diverse habitat and learn to appreciate its importance. Classroom activities include guest speakers and hands-on activities with an emphasis on sea turtles. At the sleepover, the campers will be treated with a pizza party, guided tour, scavenger hunt, and a movie before bedding down next to a shark or eel! Their day at the Aquarium will include daily programs, a visit to the giftshop, a chance to meet some of our animal residents, and a visit to Tortuga Cay—our newly remodeled exhibit opening this spring!

Camp Explorer

During Camp Explorer, campers will “dive deeper” into the habitats of the Gulf. Explorers will split their time between SeaLab and conducting field studies. At SeaLab, they will explore our wetlands, participate in hands-on projects, canoe, kayak, paddleboat, and finally, adventure beneath the waves with an introduction to SCUBA in our above-ground pool! Field studies will consist of observing and collecting data from different coastal habitats and developing a PowerPoint® presentation that records their week-long experience. At the Aquarium, campers will see the daily programs, visit the giftshop, and experience the Tortuga Cay—our newly remodeled exhibit opening this spring! Sleepover includes a pizza party, guided tour, scavenger hunt and a movie! Camp Explorer is extremely popular and will fill up fast.
