Sensational Sustainable Seafood
Sensational Sustainable Seafood is designed to encourage consumers and local chefs to consider sustainability when making seafood choices. We believe our efforts combined with others around the world will help ensure there will be a seafood available for decades to come. Our signature event is our monthly cooking class, a one-of-a-kind experience. Join us on the second Tuesday of every month, learn how to select and prepare fresh, sustainable seafood and have a lot of fun! A local chef will prepare seafood dishes for you to sample. For reservations and information, please contact Jessica Grumman at 361.653.2654 or email

We're changing things up this month with a special excursion aboard the Karma!
Get a more hands on experience by learning about seafood right from the source! As we are aboard the research vessel Karma, Dr. Russ Miget will lead you through an in depth discussion on current affairs in seafood sustainability and what we can do as consumers to help promote educated seafood choices. We will learn not only about our edible ocean creatures, but those unpalatable species that are constantly affected by irresponsible fishing practices; also known as bycatch animals. The Karma is equipped with a trawling mechanism and multiple holding tanks for species collection. We will have the opportunity to view a trawling net in use and exactly what types of animals are commonly caught in these nets.
Seating is limited, and your spot must be reserved prior to the event.
Reserve your spot by contacting Jessica at 361-653-2654 or
Chefs subject to change without notice.
