The Texas State Aquarium:
Open daily 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
(Labor Day through March 1)
Open daily 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
(March 1 through Labor Day)
Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
What are your admission prices?
Our admission prices are:
Members: FREE
Adults (13 years and older): $14.95
Seniors: $13.50
Children (3 to 12 years): $9.95
Children (2 and younger): FREE
Parking: $3.50
Prices are subject to change.
Military discounts available with advance purchase of tickets at the following MWR/ITT offices: Fort Hood, Fort Sam, Lackland Air Force Base, Naval Station Ingleside, Naval Station Corpus Christi, Naval Station Kingsville.

Are memberships available?
As a Member of the Texas State Aquarium, you will receive a personalized Membership card and a list of benefits, including free admission for one year and free parking.
Is parking available?
The Aquarium does offer parking at several locations near the Aquarium. Cost for parking is $3.50. Handicapped parking and access to the building are available for those with special needs.
Can I rent out the Aquarium for a special event?
Absolutely! Whatever the occasion, the Texas State Aquarium is the perfect venue for special events of all kinds: weddings and wedding receptions, company picnics, corporate presentations, reunions, birthday celebrations, intimate dinners, and much more!
When are your daily presentations?
The Aquarium has several daily presentations for your enjoyment, featuring dolphins, otters, reptiles, and much more!
Do you have coupons or discounts available?
The Aquarium offers a printable coupon through the Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors' Bureau . Click here to take advantage of all the CVB's special summer offers!. There are also discounts for groups of 10 or more and for our Members. For more information about discounts for groups, please email reserve@txstateaq.org.
Can I rent a stroller or wheelchair?
Yes. A limited number of strollers are available for rent for $4.00. A limited number of wheelchairs are also available for rent for $4.00.
How long will it take to visit the Aquarium?
While each individuals stay at the Aquarium differs, the average length of stay is 3 hours.
Can I bring a sack lunch?
Visit the aquarium's Waters Edge Food Court for plenty of delicious foods, including Subway sandwiches and salads, pretzels, pizza, hot dogs, icy treats and much more! The Aquarium does not allow food to be brought inside the building, however, there are picnic areas outside the Aquarium available for sack lunches.
Can I bring my pet?
Unfortunately, no. Because of the safety of our animals, we do not allow outside animals to be brought into our facility.
Can I touch or interact with any of the animals at the Aquarium?
The Aquarium has several exhibits that allow visitors to interact with some of our animals. At our Living Shores touch pools, visitors can pick up creatures like hemit crabs, sea urchins, and lightning whelks.
Visitors can also discover "creatures of cartilage" at Stingray Flats. Feel several species of stingrays and sharks under your hand.
The Aquarium also offers visitors a chance to be a Dolphin Trainer for a Day. Get up close and personal with a dolphin as you work side-by-side with one of our trainers. Click here for program cost and guidelines.
What types of educational programs do you have?
Did you know that the Aquarium educates over 60,000 children annually? As part of our mission, the Aquarium provides educational programs that are both entertaining and enriching and support the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) test. We offer self-guided tours, guided tours, gallery programs, behind-the-scenes tours, camp-ins, outreach programs, and much more. How can I become a volunteer of the Aquarium?
The Aquarium is always looking for new STARS to help us tell our wonderful story about the animals and habitats. Becoming a volunteer of the Aquarium allows you to meet new people from all over the world and become part of our family at the Aquarium.
When did the Aquarium open?
The Texas State Aquarium opened July 6, 1990.
How does the Aquarium operate?
The Texas State Aquarium Association is a not-for-profit, educational institution that does not receive city, state, or federal funding for its operations. Operational funds are generated through admission fees, gift shop sales, facility rentals, memberships, educational programs, philanthropic contributions, and corporate sponsorships.
How many people have visited the Aquarium?
The Texas State Aquarium sees new visitors every day. This year, we celebrated our 7,000,000th visitor.
