Dolphin Bay gives visitors an up close and personal look at Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. Our 250,000-gallon saltwater exhibit features three male dolphins: Shadow, Kai and DJ, who are all considered teenagers. The Aquarium is accredited by the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums, and our role within the Dolphin Consortium is that of a bachelor pad. In the wild, male adolescent dolphins will form pods with each other until they are ready to breed. The Aquarium serves as this bachelor pod, caring for these male dolphins until they are ready to breed. All three dolphins were born in other aquariums and are non-releasable.
Dolphin Bay also features a unique underwater viewing room where you can be face-to-face with the dolphins behind an 70-foot acrylic window. |
