Interpretation Aide – Seasonal Position
Sensitive Position – Background Check Required

• Station in exhibit areas to interpret TSA storyline to visitors.
• Answer questions about the Texas State Aquarium.
• Direct visitors to programs.
• Assist with volunteer training, supervision, and evaluation.
• Conduct public interpretation programs.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Knowledge of local, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean marine ecology and natural history preferred
• Ability to speak, teach, and interpret in public
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with public audiences of all ages
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience which would likely produce the required knowledge, skills and abilities

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Some duties are performed in an air-conditioned environment; others will be performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions. The ability to stand and walk for long periods of time is required.
